But they do still have a monthly service charge. When I became a user it was $12.95 a month now it’s up to $16.95 a month but if you prepay for 3 years it’s about $9. I love my Tivo but to tell you the truth the only thing preventing me from buying another one even a cheap one is the monthly service charge. I’m sorry there’s no reason why Tivo needs to charge me for anymore Tivos I bring into my house. I would prefer the ad driven guide too lower the cost. Even when he was on TV, he didn't watch it. Speaking of TIVO, do you still have to pay the monthly fee for programming information? Seems like that could easily be ad supported. That's the only thing that keeps me renting my DVR from the cable company over buying a TIVO. Also, does TIVO have a double tuner yet? That was the other thing keeping me from getting a TIVO.
